Yougu Technology Joins Hands with Changzhou Red Cross Society: “Sand of Love” Paints a Blueprint of Dreams for Autistic Children
At present, China has more than 10 million people living with autism, among whom over 2 million are children aged 0‑14 years, representing a childhood prevalence rate of 7‰, which keeps rising year by year. These “children of the stars” exhibit marked disparities in abilities. Some can memorize numbers accurately yet fail to respond to a simple greeting of “hello”; others are capable of concentrating on assembling complex patterns but grow anxious amid environmental changes. Apart from the developmental challenges the children face, countless families are trapped in hardship. Such difficulties act as shackles, hindering these “children of the stars” and their families from integrating into society.
Against this backdrop, a heart‑warming public‑welfare event has brought hope to these special families. On the afternoon of December 4, the “Sowing Sand, Forging Dreams” granular‑art charity activity for autistic children was held at Changzhou Guanghua School. Gu Yongjiu, Chairman and General Manager of Changzhou Yougu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Yougu Technology”), attended the event. Together with Ji Honglin, Vice‑President of the Changzhou Red Cross Society, he witnessed autistic children radiate their unique brilliance through granular art.
At the opening of the event, Gu Yongjiu and leading officials from the Changzhou Red Cross Society visited the granular‑art glass exhibition area to view artworks created by autistic children.
The group then moved to the “Sowing Sand, Forging Dreams” Red‑Cross‑sponsored public‑welfare classroom to observe children’s daily granular‑art learning sessions up close.
Towards the close of the activity, a symposium for the “Sowing Sand, Forging Dreams” charity project was successfully convened. Participants held in‑depth discussions covering project progress and artistic‑development needs of autistic children. They reached consensus on long‑term cooperation and clarified follow‑up support priorities.
Targeting families of special‑needs groups, primarily individuals with autism, the “Sowing Sand, Forging Dreams” project centers on three pillars: social‑competence improvement, mental‑health support and family‑service demands. Through art therapy, psychological counseling, skills training and employment guidance, the project helps special‑needs individuals ease anxiety and enhance self‑management and social‑communication capabilities. A “community therapy base” has been established to create a favorable growth environment for special‑needs teenagers and facilitate their social inclusion. Implemented by the Changzhou Granular‑Art Culture Promotion Research Association, the project receives a RMB 130 000 grant from the Yougu Technology Public‑Welfare Fund and is expected to directly benefit 30‑40 special‑needs teenagers.
As an enterprise deeply rooted in the renewable‑energy sector that has embedded social responsibility into its corporate DNA, Yougu Technology’s joint support for the “Sowing Sand, Forging Dreams” initiative alongside the Changzhou Red Cross Society stems from sincere care for vulnerable groups and a strong sense of corporate responsibility. Since the establishment of the Yougu Technology Public‑Welfare Fund in February 2024, Yougu Technology has consistently responded to people‑livelihood needs. It has carried out a wide range of public‑welfare initiatives including targeted assistance for disadvantaged groups, youth‑wellbeing support, charity book drives, sponsorship for sports charity events and voluntary tree‑planting. Its professional and sustained investment injects steady momentum into the development of social‑welfare causes.
Going forward, anchored by the Yougu Technology Public‑Welfare Fund, Yougu Technology will keep focusing on the growth‑related demands of special‑needs groups and explore more diversified, long‑term public‑welfare support models. It will closely link corporate development with social commitment and spread warmth and rally goodwill through concrete actions. Meanwhile, we sincerely hope to inspire more people to pay attention to autistic children — to understand their unique inner world, recognize their potential and brilliance, and pool streams of care through small acts of kindness.
