Changzhou Federation of Trade Unions Conducts Research at Yougu Technology on Staff Technological Innovation

On February 28, Li Ping, Director of the Rights and Interests Protection Department of Changzhou Federation of Trade Unions, Xu Dan, Deputy Director, together with special‑experts on collective contracts Hong Tao and Gu Liya, visited Changzhou Yougu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yougu Technology) to investigate the progress of staff technological innovation. Wei Qiang, Chairman of Yougu Technology Trade Union, Zou Yan, Vice‑Chairwoman of the Trade Union, and Li Yang, Lean Production Manager, received the delegation and reported on relevant work.

At the symposium, Wei Qiang reported on the implementation of the special collective contract for staff technological innovation from the perspectives of corporate development and project delivery. He stated that since the signing of the special collective contract for staff technological innovation in 2022, the company has intensified publicity efforts. Supported by the Gu Yongjiu Model‑Worker (Craftsman) Innovation Studio, over 40 intellectual‑property patents of various types have been granted from 2022 to 2024. Generous monetary rewards are offered to employees for their patented achievements to motivate their enthusiasm for technological innovation.

Regarding lean improvement, Li Yang introduced that Yougu Technology has established a lean‑improvement project mechanism and formulated incentive policies to encourage employees to identify improvement topics covering safety, quality, delivery and cost. Professional breakthroughs and optimizations have been delivered to support the company’s cost reduction and efficiency‑increase initiatives. A total of 33 lean‑improvement projects were completed during 2022‑2023, generating economic benefits of more than RMB 3.51 million. In 2024, departments submitted 31 lean‑improvement project applications, among which 19 passed review and brought economic benefits exceeding RMB 1.95 million.

With the rapid advancement of modern manufacturing, demands for high‑precision and high‑efficiency machining keep rising. Cutting tools are indispensable for machining operations; their performance directly determines processing quality and production efficiency. To boost corporate competitiveness, identify potential waste and raise material‑utilization rates, the company has tapped into tool re‑use opportunities. Tool re‑grinding extends service life and improves utilization rate, thus cutting production costs and lifting productivity. Upon project implementation in 2024, 848 cutting tools of 63 models across 3 major categories were re‑ground, reducing procurement costs by over RMB 180,000. Meanwhile, the tool re‑grinding optimization project in the machining workshop has been adopted as an outstanding lean‑improvement case and incorporated into the company’s long‑term strategic management.

After hearing the reports, the research team spoke highly of Yougu Technology’s practices in implementing the special collective contract for staff technological innovation and its fruitful exploration in lean improvement. Li Ping encouraged the enterprise to further integrate and share resources, build diversified platforms, and refine policies for the training, assessment, appointment, incentive and protection of skilled workers, so as to further stimulate employees’ initiative in technological innovation.

Working together with the trade union, Yougu Technology will keep advancing management improvement. Lean production management will be normalized, standardized and sustained via scientific and effective approaches. The company will continuously unlock innovation potential among talents, further deepen staff‑oriented technological innovation, and fuel high‑quality development of Yougu Technology in the global high‑power offshore wind‑power market.
